Freeze Dried Goodness from the Jennifer Parish Homestead captures nature’s bounty in crispy, vibrant bites straight from Eldorado, Wisconsin. Jennifer Parish is the heart behind Freeze Dried Goodness. A Registered Nurse with a degree in Biology, she brings a love of science, gardening, and homesteading to everything she does. Alongside her husband John, a master craftsman with a deep respect for the land, they’ve built a homestead business rooted in tradition, sustainability, and creativity.
Jennifer’s journey into freeze-drying began with the simple need to preserve her family’s harvests. What started with fruits, vegetables, and herbs quickly grew to include candies, complete meals, and more. Using a Harvest Right XL freeze dryer, she manages every batch with care and precision from their homestead kitchen, pouring heart and science into every tray. Some projects turned out perfectly — like crisp, nostalgic candies — while others, like exploding gummy bears, became valuable lessons in what not to dry. Each challenge along the way helped hone her craft.
Beyond freeze-dried foods, Jennifer also runs BEEScents, a body care line made with herbs and flowers grown on their land. One golden morning while gathering dandelions for an herbal infusion, she watched their bees hum joyfully among the blooms. John, nearby working on a homestead addition, laughed, “We’re preserving summer for us and the bees!” That simple moment became the heart of their mission: leaving flowers for pollinators while preserving just enough for their creations.
Today, Freeze Dried Goodness offers freeze-dried candies, custom freeze-drying services for hikers, hunters, and adventurers, and preservation services for fellow gardeners and homesteaders. Every product is made with care, creativity, and a deep love for the land.
